@Berrybunchfamily What did they do with you, except from giving you antibiotics? What does A and E mean (I don't understand every English word and abbreviation).
@tanjaostman A & E = Accident & Emergency. It's the trauma care unit of the NHS. A place you'd go in an ambulance (or walk in, as I did today) Lots of doctors aand nurses, and plenty of equipment.
I wasn't quite in the most serious part, .but I wasn't in the main A&E ward either...
When I arrived there was one other person waiting to be seen. When I left my bed was already being cleaned and made ready....Praise God we arrived in a quiet moment!
I had a chest x-ray, which showed some cloudy streaks - which matched up to the blood they took and tested - indicating a mild infection. One of infection markers was ever so slightly elevated (I don't really know that means)
I had frequent oxygen monitoring (all good) an ECG (I think - what ever is called it was the machine with lots of wires and cables that tracked the electrical signals from my heart
Lots of observation too
Lovely doctor
@Berrybunchfamily @tanjaostman I'm so glad you went to see a doctor, the antibiotic should help you feel better soon.
@Berrybunchfamily @MaryMamuzich @tanjaostman
It can be hard to stay hydrated in a hospital, especially when there is so much waiting... I'm glad you had a great doctor and are home and able to address the infection! Praise God! I'm so glad the infection was not worse.
@Cherishingsparrows2020 the Doctor made the point a few times that it was incredibly mild.
looking forward to starting to feel again! it's been a long two weeks and now i know why it didn't feel like I was actually recovering
@Cherishingsparrows2020 @MaryMamuzich @tanjaostman it was a little odd, and I cam certainly compare this against my last hospital visit - 3 years ago.
the first thing you see are 2 entrances - Covid or Non-Covid, but you're treated as Covid, regardless
plus, I was on my own the whole time, while Jo simply had to sit in the waiting area. i'd have been glad of the company, especially when having the canula fitted (really dislike that part)
certainly looked a little tired everywhere, but the staff were professional, and you can't expect more than that!
