@raymondthebrave The emphasis was on the affliction but now I see that is was a messenger of satan that caused it and the Lord helped him despite that BECAUSE he was so used of the Lord.

@Jesper_Laursen I got one back farther yet, Jesper. Roger Williams was the first Baptist in the colony. He was teaching that salvation was for those who repented of their sins (ie: not infants) and they needed to be baptized in Christ. In the mid of winter Governor Bradford put him outside the fort walls with heavy snow on the ground. The Wampanoag nation took him in until Spring. Then he went to the Narragansetts and became a good friend of Chief Cannonicus my great....grandpa.
