The Bible is a dangerous book for the North Korean government, but despite their best efforts to keep it out, Chinese missionaries continue to find ways to take Bibles across the border.

They upset the business world by campaigning for safer working conditions for workers in the East End of London. They campaigned against the hidden sex and trafficking industry of the day. They took practical action against injustice.
In his final address in 1912 William Booth said
'While women weep as they do now I'll fight. While children go hungry as they do now, I'll fight, while men go to prison, in and out, in and out as they do now I'll fight, while there is a drunkard left,
On this day in 1865 William and Catherine Booth began the work that was to become the Salvation Army. They preached the gospel outside the Blind Beggar pub in London eschewing the traditions of the established church they reached out to the poor and the forgotten with the gospel. Against much opposition the work grew. Catherine herself took a leading role and began the tradition in the Salvation Army that allowed women to preach.
But we trust in your unfailing love and rejoice in your salvation. We will praise God for his goodness.
Prayer based on Psalm 13
How long Lord? Will you forget them forever? How long will you hide your face from them? How long must they wrestle with their thoughts and day after day have sorrow in their hearts? How long will the enemy triumph over them?
Look on them and answer them Lord. Give light to their eyes, or they will sleep in death and the enemy will say " I have overcome them" and their foes will rejoice.
