Endurance, Season 2, Episode 7, Stay on Target!

Steven introduces our theme this week – Stay on Target!

As usual, we have with Andy B and with Steven and Nathan.

Go Deeper with Andy B as he explains what staying on target means.
He talks about how we should be witnessing to those in our orbit. We don’t have to travel to a foreign country to preach the Gospel. We ought to show God’s love to whomever He places within our reach, like our colleagues at work.

He also touches on the topic of pleasing others. We can’t possibly please everyone. Instead we should please God by doing what He has asked us to do.

Steven & Nathan discuss what ‘Staying on Target’ means for us, and what we can do about it:

Andy loves the kitchen! And he was inspired, a while ago, about how saucepans can teach us much about pressure in our lives, and letting that pressure go with God.

Today, he has a saucepan and a colander…both are great at straining, but with each the BerryBunch either lose rice – if they’re a bit too energetic pouring the wet rice in, or slipping the saucepan lid – and losing all the veg.

Even with a strainer, they are only as good as the size of the hole and the size of what you’re trying to strain through!

In life, there will always be things we’re trying to add in or take out, and we use filters and strainers every day to do that.

Andy B 2 Minute Video Vlog, Calendars, Organisation and Peace, S3, E10

Psalm 139 is a fairly well known piece of scripture, but it is verse 2 that really strikes Andy B as he considers Calendars, Organisation and Peace.

Psalm 139 v 2 tells us that God knows when we sit down and when we get up. So God definitely has a handle on what we can accomplish in any single day – for Him.

The Navigators Topical Memory Verse

D Be Christ's Disciple
D1 Put Christ First
Philippians 3:7-8 What is more, I consider a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish that I may gain Christ. Philippians 3:7-8

D2 Put Christ First
Matthew 10:37-38
Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. Anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Matthew 10:37-38.

Let us fill our mind (our Social Media walls as well) with the ever encouraging, guiding and correcting words of God.

Let me know if you need someone to Memorize God's word with you. Maybe we can arrange something.

We went to my in-laws' summer cottage by the sea last night, since it's so warm this weekend (26-30°C = 79-86°F). The pictures were taken at 23:45 (11:45 PM). The first time I woke up because of the light was at 4 am. We have better curtains at home. That's life on latitude 63"...

Isaiah 49:15-17
Yahweh responds, “But how could a loving mother forget her nursing child and not deeply love the one she bore? Even if a there is a mother who forgets her child, I could never, no never, forget you.
Can’t you see? I have carved your name on the palms of my hands! Your walls are always my concern.
Your children, your builders, are running back to you as those who ruined and destroyed you are running away.
