This morning is a SPECIAL morning.
I ran in my son's shoes this morning.
This morning as he is preparing to graduate from the oldest private military university in the US, I took a jog in his shoes.
I bet he has ran many many miles in these old, worn out, muddy shoes for training, PT, training other cadets, and for the US Marine Corps PFT.
These are the shoes he wore as he carried the burden of high physical standards for one of the most prestigious private military officer training schools in the world.
He is the first in my family to ever achieve this honor.
I feel that the shadow beside me in this photo is fitting because my son has surpassed my example and is no longer trying to fill my shoes, but instead, this morning I am standing in the shadow of his shoes.

@sinbach what a special day for all of you! Thank you for sharing pictures of your young boys that helped us all get to know them and feed the love & pride we feel with you and your wife today!
May Jesus bless his future with wisdom from above and courage to follow the path the Lord made for him while creating him.

@sinbach We all are looking forward to seeing pictures of this extra special day!

@MaryMamuzich most def! he's not on DD so I can share a secret. We bought him a miltary ceremony sword hand crafted in Germany and embroidered with his name for his graduation! He's been using a sword from the school for his uniform, so this will be a BIG deal for him.
can't wait to see his face. will def get photos of it.

@sinbach what a perfect gift! A forever keep sake! Can't wait to see the pictures!

From your post: "This morning is a SPECIAL morning."
What an amazing tribute from a father to his son!!! Congratulations on his graduation!!! Rejoicing together with you and your family!!!

@andyharris all credit to mom, who raised both boys as basically a single mother, since I was on the road more than 300 days a year.
tough lady!
