@bethany @MaryMamuzich wow. That's looks fab (well apart from the parsnips)
Beef and yorkies...the perfect association
@Cherishingsparrows2020 @Berrybunchfamily @MaryMamuzich oh you have? That's so crazy! I don't know that 'British cuisine' really has anything to offer to be totally honest, so I'm glad there was something you enjoyed from here in Yorkshire π
@bethany @Cherishingsparrows2020 @MaryMamuzich
Bethany!!!!!
Fish and chips
Toad in the hole
Steak and kidney pudding
Dandelion and Burdock
Yorkshire Puddings the size of dinner plates
To name a but a few ;-)
@Berrybunchfamily @Cherishingsparrows2020 @MaryMamuzich
I'm SORRY π British food just doesn't do it for me most of the time... but if our US dingdash friends can enjoy it, I'm happy
@bethany @Cherishingsparrows2020 @MaryMamuzich
Bethany - true enough. I ran out of ideas at the end of that list....
@Berrybunchfamily @bethany @Cherishingsparrows2020 this list doesn't do it for me either. I must say it made me lift my eyebrows and wrinkle my nose a bit. Kidney pudding, dandelion and burdocks... toads.... I'll just say, "Oh my! I'll take a salad and grilled chicken breast, with a piece of mint flavored dark chocolate & a cup of tea or coffee for dessert.
@MaryMamuzich @bethany @Cherishingsparrows2020
Dandelion and Burdock is a VERY old (non-alcoholic) drink.
Fentimans is a British brand that still does it justice and it is our favourite drink of choice when we can. Although Jo prefers their Rose Lemonade. Dandelion and Burdock is certainly more of a northern drink, than a southern one though!
@Berrybunchfamily @bethany @Cherishingsparrows2020 interesting! I thought you were eating weeks π€£
@MaryMamuzich @bethany @Cherishingsparrows2020 it's most commonly found in the poshest supermarkets...which says something I guess
my understanding is that it was made from ingredients people without money had freely available, hence dandelions and burdock - two plants that are easy to come by

@Berrybunchfamily @bethany @Cherishingsparrows2020 π€ making do! God always provides. I'm sure there are some good nutrition in it.
@MaryMamuzich @bethany @Cherishingsparrows2020 it has caffeine....................that always works for me π
@Cherishingsparrows2020 @Berrybunchfamily @bethany ππ a waffle "maker" must always use a waffle iron!!
@MaryMamuzich @Cherishingsparrows2020 @bethany extreme baking in my mind - some poor soul up a mountain with a batter mix in one hand and an ironing board in the other π€£
@Berrybunchfamily @Cherishingsparrows2020 @bethany π€£π€£ oh,gosh, too funny!
@Berrybunchfamily @bethany Andy B! Eat your parsnips!! Or no kidney pudding or toads for you!!
@MaryMamuzich @bethany π
toad in the hole is such a misleading name for a food isn't it?!?
and, but I don't like parsnips................
@Berrybunchfamily @bethany I grew some this year... I like them oven roasted or in soup.
@MaryMamuzich @bethany i much prefer them when they're on someone else's plate π
@Berrybunchfamily @bethany LOL! So the smell of parsnips is ok to you...
@MaryMamuzich don't mind the smell...just not the taste or texture. i'm the same with coffee - love the smell, but just don't like the taste
@Berrybunchfamily @bethany @MaryMamuzich And, waffles? Were they made with a waffle iron, or a waffle maker?π€£
I've actually tried making some yorkshire puddings after learning about them through your "dings" here on Ding Dash! My family and I enjoyed them. Thanks for introducing us!
