Get into the Christmas spirit with Safety Steve as he "helps" us decorate the house.

Our Father in Heaven is not a scorekeeper, judging us by our failures vs. our successes. God, the father is goal-oriented. What matters is who we become, not what we have done.

The things we do shape who we become, but the way we respond to the conviction of the Holy Spirit, reshapes us into the image God intends. It doesn’t matter what crooked forms we took in the past.
What matters is our willingness to be remolded.

“So don’t worry away with your...

“What will we eat?”

“What will we drink?”

“What will we wear?”

“Don’t worry about tomorrow.”
(Matthew 6:31-34)

Are there any commandments as straightforward as these that we so regularly flaunt?

Jesus offers us rest.
Thank you, Jesus. I receive Your rest.

“You are the light of the world!” (Matthew 5:14)

We often fail to appreciate how significant this statement is. Jesus calls His followers “the Light of the world.”

What chance does the world have to come out of darkness and into light without the Church? None.

Or as Paul questioned:
“How will they hear without a preacher?”
Answer: They won’t.

If the Church isn’t in revival, the world is descending into hell.

What a good day it is to be filled with the Holy Spirt! Our sanctification is the world’s salvation.

Lord, renew in us today, a steadfast and willing Spirit. By Your power, let us fulfill our calling to be the light of the world today. In Jesus’ name.

I have no problem with Saint Nicholas in our Christmas celebrations anymore than I have a problem with George Washington on July 4.

The weakness of our celebrations does not emerge from the presence of Santa but from the absence of Christ.

Santa Claus loved Jesus, btw.

We know it is Orthodox to teach that Jesus is the Son of God. But who is God?

What if God is angry, vindictive, or hard to please? Would you be glad to meet that God's son? Probably not.

How did Jesus come to be known as "God's son" in the sense of "God's second self" or "the second part of the trinity"? The process by which we come to acknowledge Jesus as God is vitally important.

If we start with assumptions about God and then say that Jesus is the son of the God we imagined, we will get both Jesus and God wrong. Sometimes, it is the things that we don't question that hide truths we need to know.

This is how I believe Jesus came to be worshiped as God by the disciples and the early Church.

While many are saying that we are living through "The Great Awakening," it is vital that we ask, "What does it look like to be 'awake'?" How will this new consciousness make us or the world a better place? In other words, what goal do we have for our society? What is the ideal?

How we answer these questions makes all the difference when quantifying "progress."

@KarlGessler no need to apologise

Hospital was hard! Heartbeat way too high (174). Finally got under control. I'm diagnosed with atrial fibrillation. And on blood thinners, BP meds and beta blockers to keep my heart lower, and that should prevent any further episodes.

Meds are until I see an arythmia specialist,

But I'm alive, and already adjusting to the meds...mostly

Doing everything to keep my heart beat low for 2 weeks ,then my own doctor has told me very slowly increase back to my usual exercise pace

God was so good to me. I got admitted to the cardiology ward overnight (which never happens) and my doctor tells me the consultant I saw is one of the best

So a rough month to say the least, starting with covid, ending with 2 hospital trips (1 lung infection) and going in a ward

Still, my heart is now beating peacefully, and I have hope that meds will not be permanent...losing weight is better than the meds, at defeating atrial fibrillation (quite the motivator)

Jo's taking me back to A&E (ER). My heart or chest seems to be doing funny things again.

Last time I went, for these same symptoms, they told me heart was absolutely fine and they found a mild infection in my lungs which they blamed for my symptoms

It feels more like the muscles in my chest are simply agitated, rather than my heart. I've checked my pulse a few times, and that has seemed ok.

Either way, they told me to come back to hospital if it happened again. it has, so we're going back very shortly.

Please pray for wisdom all round, and a speedy resolution.

I feel, otherwise, the best I've felt for weeks. Even the cough seems to have finally disappeared today.

God’s people are meant to go on the offense. We are not meant to fight from a defensive position.

Every situation is an opportunity to be salt and light.

No bad news will ever drowned out the good news of the Gospel.

The war is already won.
Be of good cheer.
