so embarrassed! i have written the word hyperbole a million times, but rarely ever say it...
WORSE! i have never recognized it being said in a sentence.
so i was corrected today when someone didn't know what i was saying BECAUSE i was saying it how it is spelled and NOT how it is said!
FREAKIN' ENGLISH!

@jezzadiah4messiah you pronounce colonel the exact same way as bologna and asthma.
@jezzadiah4messiah @sinbach Yes! When you're familiar with a word in print and maybe with hearing it spoken, but haven't been aware that it's the same word!😯 It has happened to me as well. My children enjoy reading and I this conversation is a reminder that I should have them read aloud more often...
@sinbach Yes! It confuses many people. In Spanish, we always pronounce it they way it is written.
