@tanjaostman BTW, of course I am a HUGE HUGE fan of Funäsdalen, Bruksvallarna, and Ramundberget - it really is much slower here and is not for everyone. I LOVE it, but if you would like the cute factor and really best Swedish experience - Åre is the place to go. We love going to Åre as a treat. They have great shops, amazing restaurants, and the best wine selection in northern Sweden. Åre does get super crowded though during the busy times of the year and is why we prefer to be here in Burksvallarna. Bruksvallarna has Sweden's best cross country skiing, but is super slow and not many people - which is how we like it. It does however, mean that there is less here in terms of shops, stores, restaurants, etc.
@tanjaostman yes, we spent new years skiing one year in Finland's arctic circle at Levi, and even though we were given our cabin for free by family friends, we were broke from the price of lift passes, rental equipment, and the price of food. we didn't rent a car at that time, but it was still super expensive for us. though we had a wonderful time, we would not be able to afford it again.
@tanjaostman Funäsdalen is 20 minutes from our cabin. there are thousands of miles of cross country trails here which is what we enjoy and we can ski until mid-june. i would argue that you actually save money in sweden (depending on how long you stay). we have always found finland super expensive. we often take the ferry over when we travel to finland and take our car because car rental is so much cheaper in sweden, as is the price of fuel, food, lodging, and skiing. sweden is cheaper than even the US when it comes to lift passes. even now when we go skiing in america, we find the prices almost twice as much as in sweden.
@sinbach I so so so enjoy listening to you! I always get a good laugh and you didn't let me down on this one! I haven't gotten the shot, I'm never sick, I have a good immune system and ....well all that as you mentioned, in fact I was exercising as I listened. ( Laughing while lifting weights is a good core workout) You didn't offend me with either view, I walk with the same thoughts... God bless your day.
@OneofTen thanx so much for those kind words
@sinbach
Wow! I wanted to stop like 8 times while listening to the podcast and come here to dingdash and say how much I love you brother.
Wow. The more I listen, the more I love you bro.
So beautifully said and shared. And although like you said, not everyone is exactly the same and will agree with everything that one says, I still love your personality and way of expressing yourself and I really love the fact that you won't let others shame you, and you relish in that fact. I know it might sound like I'm blowing smoke, but our personalities and sense of humor are very similar, so it's super refreshing listening these relevant podcasts and a joy. Bless you Eugene!
there are a couple of issues with this OTHER than the obvious.

I'd like to share a message @sinbach wrote to me a while ago. But it's good for everybody:
"...Who are the Christians in the Bible? Its not enough to identify as one. Its not enough so simply say it - Christians were identified by one thing.... those following Jesus. Our doctrine is one of #following. following is'nt easy. It's simple, but not easy.
...You can also embrace the correct doctrine, confess with your lips, and not be a follower. We must be #followers."
Thank you again, brother!
@Berrybunchfamily yep. that's the space where I am living
@AaronMcKinney what other countries have you traveled to since Jan 2020?
@Berrybunchfamily i guess you were not upset, because we are in a similar box?
I have NOT been vaccinated.
Go ahead and gasp in shock. I will wait.....
I am thinking about getting vaccinated.
NOW the other half of the room can gasp in shock.
I await ALL of your article links informing me how uninformed I am.
The truth is, I have spent the entire pandemic traveling the world. This year, in 2021, I have been on a plane flying to a different country about every week. I have been pretty irresponsible - speaking in large groups, hosting illegal meetings, not wearing a mask, hugging, shaking hands, licking door knobs - you know the usual.
I have also been tested more than anyone reading this post.
Let's be honest - there will a huge group of people celebrating when I finally get COVID.
But after traveling around the world, experiencing the lockdowns in China, US, and Europe as well as enjoying the relative freedom of movement in Sudan, Iraq, and Sweden - I have a few opinions.
You asked for them. Now you got them.

@bethany I have never heard shepherds - only sailors. But then again, i did live on a ship for over a year and a half of my life.
