I'm requesting prayer tonight.
I'm feeling a little down and feeling the pressure of things around. My wife and our 4 children and I are planning on moving to Brazil in around 100 days from now. We believe we have heard from the Lord over a period of a few years.
We already have our plane tickets (SkyMiles used), we are working on moving out (less than 2 months remains on our lease), I still have a crud-ton of debt that I am believing for God to miraculously remove or help with so that I can leave no debt unpaid. I have not received exact details from the Lord on what I will be doing there (ministry or small store or both or import/export).
A little background: I was invited to preach in Brazil a little over 10 years ago and went towards the end of 2011, well needless to say, the Holy Ghost revealed to us that the Pastor's daughter would be my wife (on the day before leaving from a 2 week mission), and almost 10 years later, we are 9 (happy) years married and have 4 children......
..Continued..
We moved back to the US back in March '15.
I DO believe in miracles! I serve a miracle-working God. I'm asking for prayer. My wife is a full-time stay at home mom who home-schools our children, she's amazing. And we have believed that maybe God would use Brazil to launch us out to other countries to share the Gospel. We also have a heart for/feel a draw to Africa, Mexico and Central/South America and Asia. That's not all-encompassing, I've also considered middle-eastern countries.
Well, the Lord knows all. I know I've been pretty quiet on here for privacy's sake, but I felt that I should reach out, open up and ask for prayer, so thank you in advance.
Blessings be upon you in Jesus' name.
I forgot to mention one or two other things: my permanent residency there in Brazil expires at the end of October and can only be renewed from within the country.
Also, I say I'm self-employed, I should say I'm God-employed, but I love what I do here and I'm not so sure that it really exists in Brazil, what I do here. And I understand that I may not do there, what I do here, and I'm doing my best to be okay with that. It is in many ways a huge sacrifice and it sounds good, but I want to be able to move forward and press past the obstacles (even those in my mind: debt, work, etc.) And I have been believing and will continue to believe that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the Living. My parents obviously don't want us to go, we don't know how long we'll be gone (1.5 years?, 3 years?, 5 years?, forever?)
Thank you for your prayers and encouragement, I do covet them.
Thank you.
God is so good! My son (age 7) is at the hospital emergency room right now due to experiencing nausea after having a fall while using a pogo stick. We are praying and trusting that he will recover quickly and be just fine. But, I felt to share on here because of God's goodness. My son uses his pogo stick at home frequently and doesn't wear a helmet. This evening my husband took him to an event where he planned to use his pogo stick. They had started out when he thought of getting his helmet. They debated whether to return home to get it and decided it would be safer to have it. He was wearing the helmet when he fell. If he hadn't had the helmet it could have been so much worse. God is so good! I believe He placed that impression on my son and husband to return for the helmet.
@Cherishingsparrows2020 I'm so so happy for you and your family! God is love beyond our brain's ability to comprehend -let alone put into words! Praise His Holy Name!!! Thank you for allowing us to pray with you.
Thank you again for all the prayers for our daughter. Today we received a VERY encouraging report. She's not yet completely well, but the doctor was so happy with the improvement in her condition and is confident that she'll continue to full recovery. I'm so grateful to God for His healing touch and to all who joined in bringing this need to our Heavenly Father.
