How did we get some of the non-biblical details of the Nativity story?
eg: Mary & Joseph arriving ‘just in time’; the Donkey, the innkeeper, the stable, the Magi visiting close to the the time of the birth? They all came from a heretical text called the The Protoevangelium of James. It is a pseudepigraphal work deliberately named to mislead people into thinking it was written by the biblical James. What are we doing having anything to do with such a book? Let's not blunt our double-edged swords.

My Declaration on Hope

@sinbach @bethany I think the reason we find this a surprising and difficult concept, is because we so easily get confused about Biblical righteousness. As I see the scriptures, there are two types of Biblical righteousness: 1: towards God; and 2: towards everything else. With the first, there is no difference between our sin, with the second there is. The first righteousness is a free gift, not of ourselves lest any should boast; the second flows out from it, and is evidence of it.

Watch your thoughts, they become words; watch your words, they become actions; watch your actions, they become habits; watch your habits, they become character; watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
