“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
This promise is for those who love God in covenant relationship on His terms (John 15:1-14). For those who love God, all things work together for good, just as God’s purpose in Christ has been to do good (Acts 10:38, Ephesians 2:10). This pertains to us aligning ourselves with God’s purposes, ideas, concepts, plans, goals, agenda, dreams, mission, kingdom and will— not our own.

Please pray that the #Srilankan #Church will give priority to establishing the Kingdom of God in #SriLanka
@AuthorMMM thanks for sharing this. I haven’t read Chambers since I was a teenager. Maybe it’s time again.
@KarlGessler I learned of her when @mariapombo posted about Wigglesworth and I looked to see who he was. I found a summary of her life story in the same book, God's Generals:Why They Succeeded and Why Some Failed, written by Roberts Liardon (who I understand was discipled by Lester Sumrall). Wikipedia says her ministry was a model for the Pentecostal church (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_Woodworth-Etter) ... I could definitely see that. She was quite a force. I read accounts of her meetings from her own hand, first in "Signs and Wonders" (shorter) and now in "Marvels and Miracles" (longer). This also includes testimonies of others that she included. This exploration of God's working in such lives has been amazing me since I opened the can of worms in 2020.
@KarlGessler I was reading Maria Woodworth Etter’s books last year and there were some pretty unusual signs there too per her accounts
@jezzadiah4messiah and Jesus made them see!
@sinbach good article! Happy Easter. The Lord of the Sabbath was raised from the dead on a Sunday, and the new covenant and New Testament is mostly focused on resurrection life in Christ. Makes sense! Christ elevated the other commandments in a way because they are about love of God and others made in His image. Not so the Sabbath tradition, which he one up’ed… Jesus is our peace all the time, and we can rest also in His finished work, so to speak.
@Olamide having some time alone with God (and 2 Corinthians), out for a run, headed to local church with the family, then we will see. My youngest heads back to school tomorrow. How about you? Happy Easter!
@tanjaostman this is great! Thanks.
Beautiful worship in Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, English, Korean and Persian.
