@sinbach When one of my sons was hospitalized (to be adopted by us) I witnessed several 'planned' harvesting of infant organs in a Sacramento hospital. I heard & saw a doctor tell a nurse in front of me while I held my child, that he talked the mother into 'pulling the plug' on her child who had a minor heart condition so the doctor could harvest his organs. The nurse did pull the plug, but said outloud 'hope you live through the night.' It's more here than people realize.
We are seeing things happen in this world I have seen either very little or not at all in my 63 years of life. But, even before I was a Christian, and certainly after, I knew I would see the day that would be a turning of events to harder times. It's both exciting...and sobering to see His hand. And, I think this next year will even be more eventful. Turn our eyes upon Jesus, and look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim...
@mary_vedeva Nor I!
@sinbach Can relate. Been out very little since April 25th.
@speakthetruth Thanks for your explanation. Your picture portrays you looking ex-amish. Having been raised Catholic, in evangelical Churches for 17 years, stricter plain churches for 26 years and now a conservative Mennonite church, I appreciate the balance of the Mennonite Churches the best of all. They hold up the Bible but the emphasis on evangelism is strong keeping the balance from phariseeism. (If there is such a word.) The stricter plain Churches can board on semi-cults. Seen it.
@Hkcardenas89 I read several excellent books many years ago on fasting. One accomplished 40 day fasts several times finding them especially helpful physically as well as spiritually. I attempted the 40 day fast but because of being in the prime of womanhood, could not make it beyond 27 days. I tried twice. You must have water or fluid after 3 days. I realized since then that keeping hydrated helps the body to continue the fast. I find fasting very spiritually powerful!
@speakthetruth Fred, your comment is interesting. I am in an anabaptist church. I you saying that Charity churches don't advocate a born-again experience? From my experience they would. Now as you go deeper into the 'more plain' churches I would agree with you. I joined the plain people churches 28 years ago from community churches.
@messenjahofchrist Thanks but I don't have one of those kinds of phones. I work off my computer.
@Lindseyay My daughter and I are still in 'stay at home' mode even though the Church is now having physical services. She is special needs so I took extra precautions. Today I found out that one of the members has tested positive for covid and exposed others at Church last week. Soooo, we're still seeing church.
My last post is from December 2019. It has been almost 6 months. So much has happened. I stopped writing here because there wasn't much activity. Since I left I have now reclosed my Facebook page because of various reasons. One was the repeated blocking of Christian content on others accounts that posted on my page as friends. Also, that they had new standards coming out that was going to be stricture than current. I also closed down my website.
Is anyone out there tonight?
@Cristi Thank you for the video. I had just written of this in my latest Around the Fire on my website. Then to hear of it again was encouraging.
@storehouse Thanks for the lost skills. We have 31 years of homesteading and live very close to some of the Amish. I had to chuckle though. The picture of the inside of an Amish house had an electric wall heater.😃 I have found that the majority of the world that lives adequately simply live very similarly. I have a daughter that's Old Order Brethren. She lives lower than the Amish. (Many Amish in our area hardly raise their own food now. Husbands have high paying artisan jobs, and so it goes.)
@sinbach Yum. Is cold or jerkied?
@storehouse That will be nice. We will watch for her to show us. Thank you.
@messenjahofchrist Appreciate you telling me to check out the link. I can understand some Cherokee, but I haven't learned public media language. It's foreign. If there are different places to go on this site, then they should be posted as options on the face page so we can choose them. I don't have Twitter, so the parallels are worthless to me. I have nothing to compare them to. I do understand some of facebook. Some of us are REAL GREEN! Maybe a better comparison is skeletons...lol.
