Red sky at night... πŸ”₯
(I recently learnt some people say "red sky at night, sailors delight" instead of "red sky at night, shepherds delight"... it ruined my day)

@bethany beautiful view

I'm with you on the shepherds v sailors thing!!

@bethany that's so beautiful! Yes. Red skies in morning sailors take warning, red skies at night sailors delight.
My parents built at 38 foot sailboat - I think it took 7 years. They sailed for 13 years, a precious time together.
I do like the whole shepherd thing though.

@MaryMamuzich @bethany This is my first time hearing the "Shepherd's delight" version. All my life I've heard "Sailor's delight". The pic is stunning! And, it could be anyone's delight!

@Cherishingsparrows2020 @MaryMamuzich I'm starting to wonder if this is actually another UK vs US thing... there seems to be only @Berrybunchfamily and I representing the shepherds πŸ˜‚

@bethany @Cherishingsparrows2020 @MaryMamuzich This is starting to feel like the waiting, to see if you've been chosen for a nativity play, and finding out which part you get 🀣

@bethany @Cherishingsparrows2020 @Berrybunchfamily 🀣🀣 probably! I enjoy red skies morning and night, I look in awe and wonder! What a artistic Creator we worship.

@bethany beautiful picture! Is it where you live? Very lushy.

@tanjaostman it is! I took it right from my window last night

I have never heard the sailor's version either... like you I prefer the Shepherd every time!
Beautiful pic btw.@bethany

@DevotionalTreasures it's been a revelation to hear how many people say sailor πŸ˜‚ I'd never heard it in my life either

@bethany I have never heard shepherds - only sailors. But then again, i did live on a ship for over a year and a half of my life.

@sinbach I can't explain it... shepherds just makes so much more sense to my English brain
