@MaryMamuzich yes. there are a few different schools of Buddhism teaching. What you find in Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, etc is completely different than what you find in Tibet. BUT most people agree that Tibetan Buddhism is the purest form of Buddhism. In my opinion, Tibetan Buddhism is much darker and more violent than the Buddhism that you find in Japan.
