@bethany such a great story! Why is it familiar to me? Is it in any of Eugene's books?

@ManyFreeBirds I knew I took a risk by sharing his quote, since I have not read his books and not followed him - just watched some videos. My impression of him is that he is an imperfekt seeker, not a born again Christian. Very smart and honest intellectual. I have read about him that he points his followers towards a belief, or God, not the opposite. He stands up for conservative values in different areas, and has been attacked for that. I haven't heard about "cider of doom"... I pray that he finds the truth in Christ!
It's becoming more and more obvious to me that Wokeism is Marxism reincarnated. The main difference is that Marxism focused on class, while Wokeism focuses on race.
Both obtain their power by focusing on past wrongs. Marxism became popular because real, crushing poverty was common in the world a century ago, and some of the wealthy really did abuse their power. Likewise, Wokeism focuses on real injustices done to minorities.
And both, in the end, are man-centered religions. They preach that salvation comes from the works of man. We do need salvation from our sins, but it can only come from Christ. Every false religion, including Marxism and Wokeism, puts people in bondage. Christ sets us free.
@MaryMamuzich ok! Then you know what it is like with long winters!
@MaineStreams thanks for standing in faith with me! π
@MaryMamuzich I hope not! π π
@sinbach you are right, as always... π have to wait until April every year. Just my wishful thinking that spring time would start a little earlier. But I 100 % prefer snowy winters like this, before the rainy... I'm taking the risk that you cancel me now: I prefer the (Nordic) summers before winters. Longing for beach days and getting some vitamin D, and vitamin sea! π£
@TakeN π
@messenjahofchrist A very enlightening and interesting article! It gives a glimpse of hope that ordinary users can make impact... I didn't think it was possible at all. Do you believe in data poisoning and agree with this article?
@Asianking π
@Asianking I see the posts if I click Explore universe (the globe). Yes, there is a multitude! π There you see every post, that is openly shared. Do you follow this person? Then I would unfollow... π I don't fully understand DD... don't know the difference between Home and Local timeline. But in thos two I donβt see those that I don't follow. Maybe you should avoid Explore universe to avoid these (and similar) posts...
HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY! πΉ The person in the picture is the Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin (35 yrs) - the youngest female PM in the world. (If she is a good politician or not is another question). Women got equal rights as men to vote in 1906. In 1980 we got the first female Minister of Defence, Elisabeth Rehn. Our first female President, Tarja Halonen, in 2000. There are many strong women in our country. The backside of the coin is that we have among the highest rates of domestic violence in all of Europe. We have been criticized by EU for that. I feel very safe in the streets, especially where I live on the countryside. I take evening walks alone. But there's sadly a lot of unsafety in homes....
