@Cherishingsparrows2020 wow! Interesting that you thought about his song yesterday and that you have met him! I hadn't heard about him until som days ago.
@sinbach this is too fun! 😂
@sinbach I am so NOT politically correct... 😀
This song is not new, but I heard it for the first time yesterday. It is powerful.
"Gilbert was 17 when his father was stabbed 26 times and killed for his faith and ministry in Iran. God transformed the tragedy into a profound testimony when Gilbert forgave the persecutors. Gilbert wrote this song and dedicated it to the ones who caused him to mourn.

@His_story @Olamide Thank you for that comment! And it's a little bit contradicting, since a great majority of the population is (nominal) evangelical Christians. Around 70 % belong to the Lutheran State Church (in the 80s it was 90 %). But it's a very strong tradition with infant baptism, which leads to membership. So most members haven't chosen themselves to become members.
@Olamide Here is an article! I didn't even read it all through or watched the videos, but I think the content is fair. https://thefederalist.com/2021/11/23/in-case-with-global-implications-finland-puts-christians-on-trial-for-their-faith/?fbclid=IwAR03Q_ybBGdHdOwr8iZlwbxWcmvBVNUbWQOkK77kebEBvgIGUT9Ib0r7K4A
@Olamide @bethany @MaryMamuzich This is both true and not true... It's always tricky to cover a topic only with a short text/meme. I must admit that I haven't followed this in detail, because the case with Päivi Räsänen has been going on for a couple of years. The trial is not over yet, so she has not been setenced yet. I follow her on FB, and there she links an article where the headlines says that she thinks she will win the trial. Here is an interview (made in Norway) with her in English: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44pyFC3rawg
@newt yes, I understand it's possible to have the feeling of spending too much time in Finland. I feel it too. 😂 Are you American? Did you live in Finland?
@Berrybunchfamily I would prefer both! But maybe in heaven... 😂 Wow, you have an allergy to the sun... that's not nice. Skin reactions? I am definitely not allergic to the sun. 😉
@newt northern latitude 63 degrees. Look up Vasa Finland on Google Maps. About the same latitude as Anchorage, Alaska.
@Berrybunchfamily I wish you could come and visit us and experience this! People like us who live on these latitudes are not as excited as visitors... For me to experience tropical heat, and a long clean beach with palm trees is paradise! 😀 A group of Thai people visited Finland a couple of years ago from the end of April until mid May. They had prayed to get the chance to experience snow. We don't usually get snow that late, and we just hate it so much if we get late snow... It was snowing one day when they were here and they were happy!
@Berrybunchfamily I have only visited UK once. It was appr 15 years ago when one of my sisters lived in Manchester (I flew to Liverpool). I went there in December and was freezing all the time. The houses were so cold. To be honest with you. 🙂
@mystik 😀
Swedish-speaking Finn from Finland. Wife, mother of one boy (2008). Teaching special education at the local university. I belive that the Organic Church/House Church is the NT way of doing Church. I'm interested in what's going on in the underground Church and I pray for the persecuted Christians.
