First time for Yorkshire puddings in my new Yorkshire pudding baking tray

These have turned out utterly amazing, and I can't wait to tuck in (even if I do say so myself)

Simple things can bring great joy :-)

The proof is in the pudding they say? Well these puddings look flippin awesome!!!

@MaryMamuzich Its a food filler really and a bit like pancake batter, but baked in the oven, not a frying pan

SOOOO good, though

Tastes better in Yorkshire, with proper northern gravy....but mine turned out pretty good 🙂

@bethany @MaryMamuzich today's Andy B 2 minute video is another cooking show attempt, with my new baking trays :-)

And Bethany, that teaching video in reverence should be out soon...gonna record it today or tomorrow

@bethany @MaryMamuzich well then look out for "Baking Trays, Yorkies and Spiritual Growth" 🙂

i've got another for tomorrow evening already done and uploaded, ready to go live called "Rocking Chair Worries" ;-)

Will post here on DD later, but it'll also be out as a podcast; out on YouTube' out on Instagram TV,; out on Facebook and, of course, via our website - www.berrybunch.family

@MaryMamuzich @bethany oddly, it can be sweet or savoury

It's just a pancake batter (near enough) so you could just as easily fry some up and add your lemon juice and sugar (or maple syrup)

We use it as a savoury like this, though

@Berrybunchfamily I think if you suggested adding lemon juice and sugar here in Yorkshire, you'd be kicked out and never allowed back in 😂
@MaryMamuzich I remember my brother trying to explain yorkshire puddings to his American wife. I'm not sure you guys really have an equivalent?

Follow

@bethany Thanks

The north has pudding, chips and gravy...something the south really doesn't understand!!

@Berrybunchfamily @bethany soooooo,..... Why is it called pudding when there is no pudding involved...

@MaryMamuzich @Berrybunchfamily @bethany do they have a lot of stiffly beaten egg whites? They look a little like merengues.

@Cherishingsparrows2020 @MaryMamuzich @Berrybunchfamily @bethany Lemon/ Lime season started in our area, we use fresh juice while making Lemon merengue pie. Ofcourse eggs from our backyard, we usually don't buy eggs. Wheat flour comes from a widow's farm.
Our winter delight!

@MaryMamuzich @bethany @Jo_PrayerN_actionCenter @Cherishingsparrows2020

definitely nothing like a meringue as we don't add sugar, and there is not much beating going on

on pancakes we usually use lemon juice and sugar, or maple syrup

but on Yorkshire Puddings, it's usually a meaty gravy :-) (or the lemon sauce made from the juices of a cooked chicken I discovered a few months ago)

and as for why it's called a pudding? not a clue! i think it's more to do with shape than the word - that'd be my guess

steak and kidney pudding (with suet pastry and my absolute favourite food in the world) is definitely not a dessert, but that is definitely a pudding

i don't know enough about the wording to reply...
