@MaryMamuzich (hit enter too soon) we don't get to the places with snow. they tend to be too far away
someone described that move as like giving birth - you know it's going to be pretty traumatic and painful, but also that it'll be worth it in the end
that's the same move Peter nearly got hypothermia (the heating didn't work so we had to abandon the house and go seek a hotel for the night - the heating system needed 2 x AA batteries, I joke not! the control panel's batteries were too flat to talk to the boiler to make it switch on!)
Jo and I had to carry every box down a 30 foot, icy, snow covered drive (couldn't get the van on it)
Steven and Nathan had to then carry the boxes from the front door into the lounge - they were only 7 & 8 years old at the time
and I'd had flu the day before (2nd time ever in my life) and we'd had to call the police to deal with our previous landlord the day before too...
God was good and we got there in the end!!
we had a great 4 years there!
@MaryMamuzich @tanjaostman thanks Mary... they were southern softies ;-)
@DevotionalTreasures awesome, and reblogged!
@MaryMamuzich @tanjaostman i'd like to SEE snow
since moving to the south of the UK, snow is just a distant memory
we used to live in a place called Stiperstones (in Shropshire) (cool place, just up from a hamlet called "Snailbeach"; beautiful place where we saw the clouds BELOW the level of the mountain that our house looked on to
we moved in during a time when all the local 4 X 4s had given up trying - we were moving, and our 'friends' had given up on helping us - since it was snowing we had to move anyway and managed to get up in a transit van (a panel van?)
we were above 250 metres, and i'd always ignored that part of the weather forecasts - above 250 metres and snow is simply a normal part of life!
we're now virtually at sea level............

Andy B, Teaching Video - What is Reverence?
Is reverence something we need, as Christians, in the current world?
Is reverence a bygone requirement for believers, surpassed by the death & resurrection of Jesus?
Is reverence something we should be bothered about in our churches & families?
Andy B takes a look at something that he has been thinking through, & about, for more than 2 1/2 years; pondering & chewing what he saw as a lack of reverence in so many churches, it seems normal.
But is that normal good? Is that normal right?
What does God say about it?
What can we learn through scripture about the idea of reverence in our modern, fast paced world?
Andy B takes a good look at all of this, & draws some interesting conclusions about reverence, & it’s relevance, or not, in our homes & communities.

In reference to Habakkuk 3:19, he looks at deer, climbers, and athletes being sure-footed and confident due to knowledge, practice, and experience.
He relates his experience of learning to ride a motorbike. He explains how he was shown what each of the controls did and was taught how to operate the bike.
