Tomorrow's devotional post is taken from Hebrews 11:8-10, on the subject of going "Forward By Faith" as seen in the life of Abraham. I found this one exciting to write, all glory to God our Father.
"We are often called to leave worldly connexions, interests, and comforts. If heirs of Abraham's faith, we shall obey and go forth, though not knowing what may befall us; and we shall be found in the way of duty, looking for the performance of God's promises."
MATTHEW HENRY

Through God we are instructed to choose Godly deeds rather than evil deeds; when was the last time we did a good deed?

Continue to receive from the Lord, all things that are profitable to your soul (1Cor.6:12). But, even though they may be permissible you must have discernment to know they are not profitable.
As for me and my family, my prayer will always be for the Lord to expose any fear in me (Eph.5:11) and to give me the discernment of spirits (1Cor.12:10) to know all affects of any evil that would or could manipulate my mind, will, or emotions (2Cor.4:4). I must continue to be on the look out against the devil who roams like a lion seeking to devour me (1Pet.5:8). At the same time, I must acknowledge Christ who is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last (Rev. 21:6; 22:3), of whom without I would have no life to live nor air to breathe (Acts 17:28).
"The road of the cross is not always an easy one, but it is sweeter than the alternative.
During the hardest moments in life, the sweetest of sanctuaries is found in Him. The rewards are not obvious to observers, but they are unmistakable to the gladiators in the midst of raging battle.
God's ways are so much higher than our ways and allowing my fears to crumble in His mighty hands was the best thing I ever did - ALL things work together for the good of those who love the Lord."
- Pastor Shen Xiaoming (China and End Time Prophecy)
"I will place over them one shepherd, my servant David, and He will tend them; He will tend them and be their shepherd." (Ezekiel 34:23)
[Psalms 16:8, NLT] I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.

Are there any commandments as straightforward as these that we so regularly flaunt?
Jesus offers us rest.
Thank you, Jesus. I receive Your rest.

this thought just popped into my head
when I was walking up a steep hill one day, someone told me to stop looking up. because it can be quite psychologically demotivating to see how much further you have to go
and i'm sure that is a very sensible thing while walking up a hill
but there are two issues with that as a Christian
if we look at our feet, we won't know where we're going.
or, to put that one another way - and far more importantly - we won't see WHO we're going towards
because Christianity isn't just a journey to a destination
it's a journey to a person; to a 'Him'
also, if we only ever look down at our feet, we won't be enjoying the journey we are on
just a mini thought that popped into my head which i thought i'd share with my DingDash family
let's look up to our guide, who already know the twists and turns of the journey ahead
