Please pray for the president of Finland who will make a phone call to Putin tomorrow! (Last week he visited the White House). As I shared earlier, president Niinistö might be the head of a state that has had the most frequent meetings with Mr Putin. One of the reasons for that might be that Finland is a buffer state between Russia and the West. We have had no other choice than to understand Russia, and to have a dialogue with them... This has been critizised by some Swedes, but these days Sweden is turning to Finland for advice and help.

Gonna be publishing my first book in the next couple of weeks. I'd love to say it will be next week, but it's my first time doing this...
There's a video to go alongside it, and you'll be able to choose either a paperback or e-book version.
It's quite a timely book, especially with what haas gone on in Ukraine; rising domestic fuel prices in the UK; The horrible cold thing (can't use that word anymore on FB...but I can here on DingDash...yes it's timely after the global stuff around covid too)
I was asked to write it last September by a great friend over in Nigeria. That was the source and the beginning to get me to start this project. Y'all know him as @Olamide ...I just know him as Olli D 🙂
I'll put some teasers out in the coming days 😊
For now it's enough to say it's a quick to read book to do with suffering and hope. My hope is that it is the sort of book people can buy and give to a friend who needs it...
Anybody fancy seeing the cover yet?

Andy B 2 Minute Video, Crutches Aren't About Weakness
Crutches can be a hindrance to getting on with life, easily. However, if you’ve broken your leg, it is a necessity to enable you to be walk, while your leg heals.
Christians can be negatively accused of using our relationship with Jesus, or our choice to become a Christian, as some sort of ultra negative thing.
As a Christian, I’m happy to state that I lean on Jesus more than I’ve ever leaned on any other crutches in my life.
I’ve used all sorts of things to help me get through life, from drinking alcohol, to working harder than my body can cope with, or caffeine to get me up in the morning, or keep me going late into the night.

I walked to the city center from my job for my lunch today, and saw some soldiers in full combat gear and armored cars and tanks. The air force is also flying over the city. Finnish military are conducting urban warfare training drills in several cities in Finland this week. They do it regularly, and this exercise was planned a couple of years ago. Some might think the timing is perfect, or a little scary.
Andy B 2 Minute Video, We All Need A Friend, Season 4, Episode 42
It’s so encouraging when we can advise someone, or help them, and see a burden lifted from their shoulders.
It could be as simple as lending someone a phone, or giving them a life. Perhaps we take them a meal or two when they’re ill, or even just moving house, so they don’t have to think about preparing a meal for themselves.
It can be so very simple, easy and straightforward to help others.
There are some very specific skill sets, which the church will have within it’s walls. It’s no wonder that many churches choose someone who runs a cleaning business to help organise the cleaning in the church. Or a builder to help ensure the buildings are maintained well.

#TestimonyTuesday – God on the move in Ukraine
This one comes from a fellow DingDashers - thanks @Cherishingsparrows2020
Every Tuesday well post a Testimony with the hashtag #TestimonyTuesday.
It’s a great idea I was inspired to imitate, from another blogger. Testimonies are so powerful because they are truths from our life. I love reading them, and look forward to reading many more.
Testimonies are so wonderfully powerful!

(Bit of a plug for DingDash and BTJ too...)
Are we following God today?
https://devotionaltreasure.wordpress.com/2022/03/08/following-his-lead/
Why we do what we do (it’s kind of an update)
We’ve been working on what we stand for; who we are; what we do and why we do it.
We started, two years ago (2020), simply wanting to create an online, digital, resource – where material we had been creating and using in full-time children’s ministry, could be used to inspire others, or to simply resources others. It was meant to become something of a digital filing cabinet.
And we’ve done that!
At the time of writing these words, we have nearly 450 videos on our YouTube channel. These have been viewed many thousands of times, and many hundreds of minutes of being viewed. Which is a bit humbling!

Andy B 2 Minute Video, Resting Is Proactive! Season 4, Episode 41
We love accomplishing things. Perhaps, like me, you use a digital To Do List. It is immensely satisfying clicking that little tick box, and having the satisfaction of having accomplished something else.
It can be addictive.
We can end up working so hard in order to have achieved something, that we miss out on the actual achieving!
We’re really good at being busy. The church excels at this, sadly. I think we sometimes feel that if we work really hard then, perhaps, God will love us more, or we’ll feel less guilty about something else.
And, yet, there is a pattern of working and resting that was set in stone by God, when He made the world in 6 days, resting on the 7th.
That cycle of working and resting is important! [READ MORE]

"A NUMBER of Russians have left Russia over concerns about the rumoured declaration of martial law and the impact of crippling economic sanctions.
With scheduled flights out of the country suspended except for Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, many have turned their attention to the rail service operated between the Finnish capital of Helsinki and St. Petersburg by VR, the Finnish state-owned railway company."
Please, pray also for the Russian people! All Russians don't support Putin, and life is getting harder in Russia. But I'm afraid they won't feel very welcome in Finland, as hatred towards Russians increase all over the world. Some Finns hate Russians, because of what their forefathers did to our country. But ordinary people are never responsible for their government, or for what their ancestors did!
Today we had a meeting at my workingplace regarding our Russian and Ukrainian students and colleagues. We have zero tolerance for hate speech.
Bit chilly this morning. We usually run the fire in the morning, but even more so today. The needle was touching 14 degrees...
Busy day of editing and transcribing ahead today, and we've finalised a vision for our online ministry, which we've been crafting for a couple of weeks - will share that properly at some point.
Did I mention we've created well over 400 videos - all on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram - since starting what was, originally, just gonna be a digital storage vault and resource centre. It's still that, but so much more now. Which is kind of cool!
Jo's left for work, with an extra coffee - in a flask - for her arrival. Older lads are having a well earned, slower start, today, but Peter is up and making us both some porridge.

Endurance, Season 4, Episode 2, God Opposes the Proud.
#GoDeeper
In order to kickstart this week’s theme Andy B gives some real-life examples of inexperienced people thinking they know better than those with experience, reminding us of the downsides of being proud.
He provides reasons for why humility is such a good thing to reach for, and why pride and arrogance are not such good things to reach for.
He talks about truck drivers, fact-checkers, diesel engines, and more…
#GoDo
Nathan and Steven discuss the theme for this week – “God Opposes the Proud.” They point out that it’s a bad idea to be proud, and they discuss a couple of likely scenarios in which we can easily become proud. They also remind us that when we strive for humility we will be honoured.
