@sarikorpi I totally agree
@KarlGessler which campuses?
@His_story I like how John Wesley put it, referencing Paul in 1 Corinthians 2:16, I think. Sanctification is to have the mind of Christ and all of the mind of Christ. The word of God as an imperishable seed is God’s mechanism for sure.
@sinbach I also didn’t realize the predominance of women among BTJ. Kudos to all the brave women out there! The full time work makes sense; with a full time job it’s still amazing the time one has outside of it, everything considered, at least when kids are at a stage where they take care of themselves more. Of course priorities matter.
@Olamide 🤣🤣
@sinbach I found your new book on the BTJ website. Missionaries “paint their lips and learn to twerk”? 🤣🤣
@Susan @zephan I was reading AB Simpson, founder of the Christian and Missionary Alliance and a lead in development of the “full gospel” church, recently including a number of his books—he’s an amazing author and they are free online— and liked what he had to say here about prayer: https://www.hopefaithprayer.com/prayernew/prayer-faith-simpson/
@Olamide I love this! 🤣
@MaryMamuzich is this acquaponics? Maybe you’ve got some minnows down below? 😉
@Berrybunchfamily that’s awesome
@faith20 this reminds me the beginning of Isaiah 53: “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?”
Isaiah 53:1 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/isa.53.1.KJV
To him that believes God’s report, the arm of the Lord is revealed. It’s quite an arm! What follows that is the most amazing part of the Old Testament—God’s promise, His victory plan to be received by faith.
@Lanka4Jesus that sounds great, although I wouldn’t have guessed it was for breakfast. When I was in Western China though I saw beef noodle “bars” basically replace the omelet bars we typically see for breakfast in the West, and that stuff is wonderful!
@Lanka4Jesus this is really cool! This has been around so long—I wonder when people started to understand why it works.
While I was reading Acts 15 this morning, about Paul’s time in Jerusalem before his second missionary journey, I saw the following: “ They sent Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, leading men among the brothers, …men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ”. The church valued those who had risked their lives for the gospel and recommended them for following missionary journeys. To me, it corresponds to what BTJ missionaries are in this time.
My church-related writings are available at www.jason.church. I recently posted a new book 📕 on Christ in the Apostle Paul at www.jason.church.
