@xixiangdong well, let me point to
- 1Cor 12:28 (certain gifts will cease)
- Mt 7:22,23 (end times apostasy)
- or Eph 2:20 (Apostles and Prophets are the foundation upon which the Church is built. You don't build more foundations on the foundation...)
-signs and wonders as a verification for the gospel
- Heb 2:4 (gifts already in the past!)

The verse you mention fits the above, when you take it as truth for that specific time.

That's what I can think of right now...

@Knittinggrace @sinbach Hello brother,
I also start to believe that this current craze has a very deep reason from within the church and will have a deep impact on the church-goers.
People will have to decide to stay in the theatre or come out and be real.

I'm figuring: getting real is tough man!

@Kruselady @mariapombo yes. But many times it does it through painful processes. Maybe always?

@Knittinggrace if you don't see it you're clearly not brainwashed yet. You're missing something!
Don't worry. Spend more time on TV or other sinful entertainment, listen carefully to politics and state-of-the-art science and you'll get the blessing. :)

I wasn't able to figure out this "baptism of the spirit" thing.

What I do know is: "Obedience is better than sacrifice." And: "Whoever keeps on sinning is not of God."

To make that happen, I realised, I'll have to make my home a totally internet-free zone. NOW.

I hope this IS a work of the Spirit. Conviction of sin is his job, alright?

Comments welcome, I have a 32k mobile messenger flat for DD when I get cell coverage in the next town.

And can it be, that I should gain...?

All to Him!

Have a good morning, everyone. Whenever that is in your place. :)

Isa 40:28-29: "Don't you know? Haven't you heard? The Lord is the eternal God, the Creator of the whole earth. He's never weak or tired; you can't find out all he knows. He gives strength to the weary and power the powerless."

@xixiangdong I don't believe in prophets today, because the canon of the Bible is completed. But I'd very much like to see that video of yours. Would you share it with us?

@sinbach just out of interest: why would you think that you might indeed be going to hell? You surely have an intercessor at God's throne?!

Acts 16:30b-31: "Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thine household."

Thank you Lord, for making it so simple! And now, as you have saved me, also lead me in holiness, in daily forsaking of my flesh, the world and Satan, that I might live up to the high calling, that you have given me. Do whatever necessary to clean me from without and whithin.
Because you are!

@sinbach thank you for this extensive study. This "east to west" thing is certainly interesting. Searching this through DuckDuckGo, I found this website, supporting your definition.
bit.ly/3hzdkXL

But I also found signs of warning that I want to share. The Scriptures speak of a

"wind from the east" (going west)

which brings
- heat, death (Gen 41:6,23,27)
- destruction (Ps 48; Hes 27:26)
- and God's judgment (Hos13,15).

@Cherishingsparrows2020 @raymondthebrave two witnesses, intended as an argument :)

Mat 24:36: "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no not the Angels of heaven, but my father only."

Mar 13:32: "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the Angels which are in heaven, neither the Son himself, but the Father."

@raymondthebrave Where in the Bible do you find that we're to try to determine the date of Jesus' return? The Bible says that no one knows the hour or day. When does that change? I believe setting a date to be unscriptural. This isn't intended as an argument. I'm simply sharing my beliefs on this matter.

@daniel very interesting question! My first idea was to connect freedom tho the Spirit of God. That's certainly true for Christians, but there are a lot of atheists who value freedom too. I don't know.

I'll keep your post in mind and check for better answers later. :) have a good day!

@Wanderer there's a man in Lk 23:43, who died without baptism, let alone immersion. And yes, he was saved by faith alone.

We'd be hopelessly lost if our salvation depended on anything else than the grace of God.
