The citizenship of Christians is in heaven. I don't vote anymore because I'm on a pilgrimage to heaven, not here to change the world. Many disagree and do vote, that's fine with me. Just don't expect governments to act biblically. No matter what party.

To not use electronic devices at all is the ONLY way, to be safe from the governments surveillance.

What you say is true, if you want to be safe from malware, bots, hackers etc.

But those are not the issue.

At all.

What you want to be safe from in closed countries is lawful interception. That can be done easily at your provider. Brands of your gadgets don't matter here.

It gets even worse with "source telecommunication surveillance" (I hope that's the proper English word) government-built Trojans/rootkits that intercept even before encryption...
