@mensajero my grandad was a very pale white man! For his 80th birthday, just after his wife had died, he wanted to go to a curry house - something he'd never have done while my nan was alive, out of respect for her dislike of Asian food.

I was always surprised by him, but none more than that night! Because the staff were talking about themselves, and not giving anybody much attention, in what turned out to be a fairly unspoken dialect! But then my grandad replied to them in their own language and dialect... He'd learned to speak it fluently while fighting in (what was then called) Burma during world war 2.

They were beyond surprised, to say the least! And we got great service that night!

He had the hottest curry they offered that evening, to all our concerns. My memory, one of the last before he died, is his normally pale face, turned bright red with sweat running off his head, and a huge grin on his face 🙂

@Seabreeze777 "You are beautiful beyond description" is a song which doesn't seem to have aged!

I remember learning to play it, and lead worship with it, back in the 80s and 90s 🙂
