@tanjaostman i went to a men's conference once.

the 4 guys running it had had their lives changed by a book (not the bible, which would have made some sense)

i was sat next to a lovely, godly, friend; we were getting whiplash listening to them butcher scripture

when they told us that "all men are aggressive, like contact sport & use porn" we did feedback that generalisations aren't helpful

i challenged one of their points (don't remember now) because it was SO off. they told me that most people would have known what they meant - i said that wasn't ok!

when we were all told to go outside & stand on our own, & let our minds to whatever thoughts came along, my friend and I walked together praying for people instead

I left before the end of the first full day

we'd have preferred some worship, testimonies, basic [biblical] teaching and a curry

books can be great. but life changing encounters need rooting in scripture, not feelings

what i saw that weekend was feelings running amok

had a little sleep...antibiotics must be doing something, because they're knocking me out within a couple of hours of taking one

2nd pill taken of 5... Shame my appetite is so shot at the moment cos the scrambled eggs Steven made me are probably very nice

@MaryMamuzich very cute coat. We had to get something similar for our smallest dog....she hadn't an ounce of fat upon her!

@MaryMamuzich @tanjaostman I had a very long shuffle from the hospital to the car yesterday...not much fun though! I want to be back up in the fields above our home!!!! I'm quite a away from that...I need to physically present myself to our local doctor in order to register...that's about a 10 minute walk on a good day...hoping to try that this afternoon

@tanjaostman there's an awful lot of depressing news............i've had to learn to ignore some of it or I'll be overwhelmed, and I can take quite a bit of bad news

while in hospital there was a 6 year old having a panic attack..............a 6 YEAR OLD! it breaks my heart to think of that

nice to know i'm in otherwise good health

slightly raised Blood Pressure and above average heart rate, but the BP can be easily written off (as my doctor indeed did do) due to my presence in a hospital and the heart rate was why I was there - he's putting that down to covid + tiredness + mild infection aggravating my heart and upsetting it: he doesn't see it as something of a pattern or of future concern, but all related to covid + infection

@MaryMamuzich @tanjaostman well my health, according to the bloods anyway, is good

i'm looking forward to some excellent health too: i want to get back on my mountain bike, 'cos sitting around on the bed has driven me slightly silly
