Andy B 2 Minute Video, Peace Through the Trials, S4, E21
So this is one of Andy B’s extended 2 minute videos. But, after a hellish November, and nearly 6 weeks with no filming anything, it seems fitting!
As people, we want to control the situations around us, to make us safe. But we also have to learn, as we mature, to be able to discern which battles we should enter, and which battles we simply need to accept. Not accepting them in terms there is nothing we can ever do about it. But accepting that there are some battles we just need to leave to one side.
And the Bible tells us not to be anxious. But, it also tells us that, when we are anxious, we are go to God.
So when you have a month like we had – our November troubles – how do you find or maintain peace through that?
Just a thought…
Andy B
@Olamide @KarlGessler thanks for the inspiration
@tanjaostman pretty much!
EU leader calling for EU wide forced vaccines
Concentration camps in Australia, Austria etc
Greece imposing finrs for over 70s, 112 euros for every month they don't get a vaccine
And the south African doctor who first discovered the new variant stating that it hasn't made a single person need medical intervention
@Olamide sounds about right to me
@KarlGessler isn't it ! 😊
@KarlGessler amen. I'd love to see that!!
@sinbach awesome to see this 🙂
Our police do something similar in the UK (loading a police van and dropping off the goodies at various places). Not sure what the military do, but I know they most certainly will not be doing nothing ! 😉
One thing the RAF does is fly a Santa Clause about to children's hospitals delivering presets...that makes me sob EVERY TIME I SEE IT!!!
@KarlGessler lol
I only ever grew a ward for a gospel message...2 months or so of growth, that I shaved off in front of a group of young children, wile talking about God's forgiveness, and how He makes brand new when we say sorry and become Christians
A couple of weeks later a 4 year old gave her life to Christ at a light party we put on 🙂
Praise God
@KarlGessler yes, God is good
I've DM'd with a few details of what also happened to us during just November!
Oh, and due to the risk of bleeding, our family concluded I should grow a beard, since shaving is the most coin cause for hospital visits while on blood thinners
And I don't like beards...but I do, now, own a bread trimmer 😂
And I got back in our studio today, for the time since October!!! Mostly tidying up and updating the computer, but it felt good to be back in there!
@KarlGessler no need to apologise
Hospital was hard! Heartbeat way too high (174). Finally got under control. I'm diagnosed with atrial fibrillation. And on blood thinners, BP meds and beta blockers to keep my heart lower, and that should prevent any further episodes.
Meds are until I see an arythmia specialist,
But I'm alive, and already adjusting to the meds...mostly
Doing everything to keep my heart beat low for 2 weeks ,then my own doctor has told me very slowly increase back to my usual exercise pace
God was so good to me. I got admitted to the cardiology ward overnight (which never happens) and my doctor tells me the consultant I saw is one of the best
So a rough month to say the least, starting with covid, ending with 2 hospital trips (1 lung infection) and going in a ward
Still, my heart is now beating peacefully, and I have hope that meds will not be permanent...losing weight is better than the meds, at defeating atrial fibrillation (quite the motivator)
@sinbach I'll never be unable to see that now lol
@tanjaostman they can be too close to the truth
BBC productions back when they were better!
@tanjaostman you ever seen Yes Minister or Yes Prime Minister
They were both a series made by the BBC. And appear rather, painfully, funnily, accurate on how politics really works
It's very dated, but, politics really changes
We love it and have the DVD box set
You need to add the @ or he likely won't spot it...
When you type that @ symbol, and start typing his name, you'll get a list pop up and you can simply select the correct one
@tanjaostman sums things up pretty well
I deployed with the army as a DOD civilian in 1996 as a part of a peacekeeping mission. I was a real estate negotiator for properties needed belonging to civilians. One of my translators was a young Bosnian, Nermin. We became close friends while we served together, although at one point he reported me for my Christian witness. He spoke Russian, German, English and his native tongue. I recently found him through Facebook in Berlin as an international attorney. He shared how depressed he was. His wife and child were killed in an accident on the road to Sarajevo a few years back and he has not healed. He spoke of wanting to work in the US. I have invited him to come to my home and we are working on a visa. A few weeks ago after a trip to Ukraine he contracted COVID even though vaccinated twice and was hospitalized for 10 days. Sunday past he returned to the hospital again having breathing issues. Please join me in praying for his healing.
