@mensajero really interesting video
My grandfather fought in Burma as a Chindit, before being captured by the Japanese. He quickly escaped, and was aided by a local Burmese family.
Having been born and raised in India, the jungle didn't scare him.
Interesting man!!
Interesting video - thanks for sharing
@DevotionalTreasures we hand make all our cards 🙂
And yes I agree we've lost the personal touch. As we've seen advances in technology to join us - and they're great! We've also lost the ability to be in the room because we can be any room in the world, perhaps?
@DevotionalTreasures can I be controversial? (not sure why I'm asking - too late once I hit enter)
But, I got quite upset at people not sending cards for Christmas.
It is always for the environment (yeah right!), and the money is given to a charity instead
but we know half of that money is paying wages and bonuses of executives (at least this is so in the UK)
so, why not, you know, send a card to someone that needs a physical reminder that you've thought of them?!?
i've never been all that offended by it before, but - this last year, at least - it really got to me
if you can't afford it, fine. life happens
but if you decide not to send physical tokens of your thoughts for others, don't shout about it and just give 50% of what you'd have probably spent, to faceless charities...how about say nothing, and go buy a homeless person a coffee instead?!?
sorry to hijack your thread here Alan...just really got my heart sad with all we've endured through covid lockdowns
@tanjaostman wow!
@tanjaostman lol yes.. this!!!
@faith20 Romans 5 reminds us that there is hope and that hope does not disappoint us
The only thing we can truly trust is Jesus, but what a name to trust!!
@Olamide simples
@faith20 you're more than welcome
today our PM stated he wanted to maintain a voluntary only vaccination programme, but he began shaming those who prefer not to be vaccinated (while also stating that 70% of ALL 17,000 covid patients - as of today - in hospital are fully vaccinated)
thing is, it has never been voluntary - if you want to work in the care sector (old people's homes) you already have to have been fully vaccinated (that was many, many months ago)
or the NHS (our national hospital) you have to be fully vaccinated before April, or you will lose your job
Scotland and Wales handle things even more horribly
England seems to be the best off, of many European countries, but I still wonder how long that will last
@faith20 I pray for you as often as I'm prompted by the Holy spirit...that's very frequent
I'll read the article, of course.
But I also wanted to say, first, that you are not standing alone!
My heart is breaking for the hardship so many are facing, including here in the UK, albeit less severe at present
I pray you find ways of showing the peace of Christ to those God has placed you near to. And knowing that same peace, in ever increasing amount
Your brother
Andy B
@tanjaostman wo don't have epiphany as a holiday in the UK. Outside of the Church of England most Brits have probably never hear of it
@DevotionalTreasures lovely and encouraging post as ever while being equally challenging.
my friend, you have a true gift
Are you walking in His Light today?

@davereimer @StevenBerry very much so!!
@MaryMamuzich Ii know what you mea
Glad I can, but that missionary is what made the difference!!
@MaryMamuzich a Chinese missionary taught me how to use chopsticks...I don't think I'd have otherwise learned - it certainly does take some effort!!
@MaryMamuzich @bethany me too 🙂
Hymns, children's worship, adult contemporary...all works for me, especially when people worship from the heart
@MaryMamuzich @StevenBerry amen to all you said!!
@MaryMamuzich @bethany I can imagine...I love the pentecostal and contemporary approach to worship. I've been a worship leader since I was 10!
But in one church, I did get bored, so sat down and read the bible (or probably Facebook) while the repetition continued... 😜
@MaryMamuzich @StevenBerry @TakeN it's a great combination 🙂
