@tanjaostman there's an awful lot of depressing news............i've had to learn to ignore some of it or I'll be overwhelmed, and I can take quite a bit of bad news
while in hospital there was a 6 year old having a panic attack..............a 6 YEAR OLD! it breaks my heart to think of that
@MaryMamuzich @Cherishingsparrows2020 @tanjaostman God always stuns me with His way of getting our attention to pray!
@KarlGessler thanks so much Karl
nice to know i'm in otherwise good health
slightly raised Blood Pressure and above average heart rate, but the BP can be easily written off (as my doctor indeed did do) due to my presence in a hospital and the heart rate was why I was there - he's putting that down to covid + tiredness + mild infection aggravating my heart and upsetting it: he doesn't see it as something of a pattern or of future concern, but all related to covid + infection
@MaryMamuzich @tanjaostman well my health, according to the bloods anyway, is good
i'm looking forward to some excellent health too: i want to get back on my mountain bike, 'cos sitting around on the bed has driven me slightly silly
@Cherishingsparrows2020 the Doctor made the point a few times that it was incredibly mild.
looking forward to starting to feel again! it's been a long two weeks and now i know why it didn't feel like I was actually recovering
@MaryMamuzich @tanjaostman sorry...I should have refrained from acronyms! i often forget just how diverse a group of people there are I'm honoured to call friends, brothers and sisters!
@Cherishingsparrows2020 @MaryMamuzich @tanjaostman it was a little odd, and I cam certainly compare this against my last hospital visit - 3 years ago.
the first thing you see are 2 entrances - Covid or Non-Covid, but you're treated as Covid, regardless
plus, I was on my own the whole time, while Jo simply had to sit in the waiting area. i'd have been glad of the company, especially when having the canula fitted (really dislike that part)
certainly looked a little tired everywhere, but the staff were professional, and you can't expect more than that!
@MaryMamuzich @tanjaostman thanks Mary
@Pablito none of the above
Plenty of blood was taken and tested and I came out as really healthy... Except for the mild infection
@MaryMamuzich @tanjaostman I hope it will
So dehydrated right now! I'd kept my fluids great until half a day in a hospital! On my second point of fluids since coming home 30 minutes ago
@tanjaostman I've got another 5 days of antibiotics which they hope should help clear up that infection
@tanjaostman A & E = Accident & Emergency. It's the trauma care unit of the NHS. A place you'd go in an ambulance (or walk in, as I did today) Lots of doctors aand nurses, and plenty of equipment.
I wasn't quite in the most serious part, .but I wasn't in the main A&E ward either...
When I arrived there was one other person waiting to be seen. When I left my bed was already being cleaned and made ready....Praise God we arrived in a quiet moment!
I had a chest x-ray, which showed some cloudy streaks - which matched up to the blood they took and tested - indicating a mild infection. One of infection markers was ever so slightly elevated (I don't really know that means)
I had frequent oxygen monitoring (all good) an ECG (I think - what ever is called it was the machine with lots of wires and cables that tracked the electrical signals from my heart
Lots of observation too
Lovely doctor
@Berrybunchfamily What did they do with you, except from giving you antibiotics? What does A and E mean (I don't understand every English word and abbreviation).
Jo's taking me to A and E.
I stifled a yawn, and now my heart is doing a weird but gentle beating thing...hoped it'd settle down but it hasnt.
This sucks!
@KarlGessler I've checked through my symptoms and they don't fit that at this time, to the best of my understanding....gonna keep hoping and monitoring it
@KarlGessler ok
We're starting to see something of an end...very weak still, but the boys are mostly better, or at least dramatically improving
Jo and I still have a cough, although mine is worse than Jo's. Managed to have it absent all day until I ate a piece of chicken and managed to breathe a little bit of it...took me 2 hours to come back to a regular breathing pattern again after that... so frustrating as I'd worked really hard all day on that!
@MaryMamuzich @TakeN he's making up for the lost meals, which I find super encouraging
