Your Favourite Podcasts, and Study Plan Ideas?
This post is mostly about me asking for your recommendations and suggestions for your favourite podcasts and Bible reading plans or study books.
We’re taking a couple of weeks from creating our usual output, and it’s giving us an opportunity as a family to catch up on all sorts of things, rethink things and rest as a family in a different way.
We’ve washed the car, dumped a broken sofa at the tip, rearranged some furniture and taken a look at our lives to see where we have been wasting time, or where God might be calling us to do other things.
You can read the rest of the post on our website - www.berrybunch.family/your-favourite-podcasts-and-study-plan-ideas/

Andy B 2 Minute Video Vlog, Coiled Potential Can Hurt!, S3, E28
If you think of a spring, they’re fitted everywhere! From DVD players to cars, from bicycle derailleurs to pens and staplers, from watches to door handles!
On my bike, the part I fitted has a huge spring which forces the derailleur to be pushed away from the centre of the wheel. When you press the gear lever, it allows that spring to relax, jus a littler bit – a very set amount – and your chain is put on a lower gear.
The one I bought does exactly this. But in order to fit (the lazy way) I had to remove a couple of small bolts so I could save myself removing the chain just so I could fit the new part to my bike.
Unfortunately, the grip I had on it slipped, and the spring did it’s job of bringing the derailleur into it’s more natural position...............

@tanjaostman I get what you're saying...which is the point
When I was younger my French accent was apparently like a native, and those I spoke to always knew what I was saying when in France on school trips
But my technical ability was truly awful...I failed my alevel and almost failed my GCSE french
This frustrated my peers and teachers no end, with their far more correct french, when I was understood and they were not
Nothing like that to knock down pride a bit
I just enjoyed it even though I wasn't technically proficient at all
@tanjaostman Wow... pretty clear!!
@DevotionalTreasures food is always a great example, because every single person on the planet eats!
would love to know what you think - i love your feedback!!!
@DevotionalTreasures @bethany always....keep it simple is my mantra in life
simpler equals less of me and more of Jesus
@bethany thanks Bethany - I really appreciate that. I hadn't done anything like this before, and really enjoyed it.
Anything particular that encouraged you?
Reverence is my next one (courtesy of your input) and I have a bunch more after that that I've also, already, jotted down (courtesy of a brief chat with @DevotionalTreasures in his fantastic blog )
Stuff from me won't ever be heavy on bible verses or theology, but it's probably gonna be fairly raw!
I just love taking normal life stuff and applying it to scripture, with the hope it encourages others in their own faith journey.
@tymektt Hiya 🙂
Rain here has been really bad too
@messenjahofchrist Something I can't ever see me doing over here in the UK
Jo fired machine guns when she was in the Territorial Army, and pistols when she tried out for the firearms police back in the day
Al I remember of that time, was the funny smell of the oil used to lubricate the guns
From your face I can see you look like you had fun
@tanjaostman Yep. Exactly. God is after our heart, not our qualifications
@tanjaostman it takes quite a bit of effort! we know only too well
this is one we did (Jo and I), very early on last year, when we didn't really know what we were doing
they were a bit rushed fro a project we were working on
i'd love to take some time to do this, properly, with the songs i've written
i'm not so happy with how it turned out, but i do love worshipping with my wife 🙂
@tanjaostman thanks - I thought that's what you meant ;-)
@tanjaostman wow. He's fabulous!!!!! I really enjoyed that - thanks for sharing
@tanjaostman ace. I'm a keyboard man cos I never had the finger strength for a piano
You got a proper little band there 🙂
@tanjaostman I have lots of thoughts on this topic, having been a worship leader for more than 3 decades across traditional to contemporary, and childrens worship
@DevotionalTreasures as for doubts, I had those for my Andy B video "Wisdom Trumps Experience, S3, E27"
I put a lot of thoughts I've had ivet a number of years, and they came together in this video....my write up expands some of those
I'm waiting for some negative 'feedback' when people do watch it/read it because I don't think the majority of people want to think about the things I bring up.
But it is life! And we shouldn't shy away from stuff, just 'cos it may not be well received by all
Also tried not to be unecessarily offensive with it too.....
@tanjaostman YES. THIS!!!!!!!
@tanjaostman this is the YouTube video I mentioned https://youtu.be/qrS-xo6kj5c
@tanjaostman and mindfulness!!!!!!! Will try to resist my soap box on that issue. suffice to say that (and this is my considered/experienced opinion) anything that promotes emptying your mind is utter rubbish! That, in a nutshell, is mindfulness.
Jo had to to learn to deliver a programme for offendors that uses mindfulness...first time she was trained up, she passed and was considered exceptional, but she quit before the training course had completed because of that 1 issue, & then took a vicar (so called) & the woman who wrote the course - a Christian (so called) who both said it was great. Now (5 years on) it isn't used hardly at all, by any of her colleagues - who all avoid it!
By God's grace (& - we believe - her efforts the first time round (she has never had to deal with 'that' element & manages to avoid it
As for yoga - ugh!!!!!! So many Christians are pulled away from Jesus by that, but that is the single aim of yoga (being acceptable to Christians) & it does it well
@tanjaostman John Cooper (lead singer of Skillet, and a fantastic brother in Christ) did a special, video, podcast on exactly this issue, joined by his wife - Korey Cooper (she is such a daughter of the King!) Jeremy Camp, his wife and another lady I don't know anything about
I watched a good portion, and it was great (well, being totally honest - Korey Cooper, John Cooper and Jeremy Camp were amazing...the other two, not so much for me...)
