I got to listen to Brother Yun this morning. Unfortunately his interpreter Brother Ren has fallen sick, so I wasn't able to send greetings to him from @sinbach I tried to talk to Yun in English, and a few phrases in German, but he seems to prefer Chinese. 😉 They found a stand in on a short notice, a Chinese woman with another Chinese dialect, who isn't fluent in Swedish (the language of the church I went to). So I suppose the preaching today wasn't as long and in depth as it could have been. But his message 'Jesus loves you' got through. The boy with the mask on, is a 16-year-old local Finn who speaks Chinese because he has lived for ten years in Western China (close to Qinghai Lake) where his father has worked with Bible translation. He has continued his work from Finland.

Happy 92nd birthday to this awesome mother of 8 who has the ability to wear so many hats to help, aid and comfort anyone within her reach!
Taking her shopping is a hoot! She's willing to try anything once and laughs so easily!
Mom, I love you beyond measure! I pray God gives you many more years of incredible health!

Marriage Matters, ‘Friend or Foe?’, S01E014

vimeo.com/702905677

In this week’s Marriage Matters, Andy B and Jo talk about friends, whether they are friends of the wife, friends of the husband or both or whether they are friendships formed before or after marriage. And Andy and Jo consider how these friendships can affect our marriages for good or bad. The idea of Friend or Foe comes from wartime and so-called friends could turn out to be enemies of your marriage causing more harm than good, on the other hand a healthy friendship can enhance and strengthen a marriage.

The Take Away
Andy and Jo were surprised by how much is written about friendships in the bible and Jo could see how the bible shows the importance of healthy friendships.

Andy challenges us to consider our friendships in the light of scripture and to think about whether we have friendships that are detrimental to our marriage.

Sunday PLUS, Proverbs 2

berrybunch.family/sunday-plus-

Tomorrow (Sunday 1st May, 2022) we’ll be hosting our second Zoom, LIVE, Family discipleship group of Sunday PLUS – which you are very welcome to join. It starts from 5pm (UK time) and lasts for no more than 30 minutes. They happen monthly on Sundays.

We’ll be carrying on with our look at the book of Proverbs, in the Old Testament, and what it can teach us: the first one, which we created following a request from some dear friends, went down super well so we’re looking forward to doing it all again.

As usual we’ll have Andy B, Jo Jo and Peter, with a little help from Dave the Dog!

The BerryBunch

First birthday in the new house - for my beautiful wife. I fell in love with Jo because of her passion for Jesus, and am loving exploring life with her. There's never a dull moment!!

Andy B

I just want to learn from the heroes of Smyrna. There is still some time to do it.

Sunday PLUS, S01E002

Dave the Dog joins Jo Jo in the studio and, well, mostly together, they help Andy B take a look at the second chapter of Proverbs, which is rammed full of wisdom.

Dave the Dog comes to realise that using a permanent marker on his friend's head is not using much in the way of wisdom - at least he gets there in the end!

Sunday PLUS happens around the world at 5pm (UK time). We'll publish the video at 8pm the same day.

Please pray for the children of ministry partners, who are appearing for their High School final exams.

Just read Roman 3....anybody else read this chapter and thought...say what?!?

Need to read around this one!!

Family Prayer Time, Brands, S01E08

youtu.be/eq8OfRl7-CA

Peter & JoJo get together to encourage us, as always, to pray as a family. And they continue their series on using objects around the home to help us stay focused in prayer.

This week, JoJo & Peter continue to inspire us into praying for different countries, nations, or places in the world by using, this time, brands associated with countries.

Peter and JoJo encourage us to find items or pictures of items that are either made in a particular country or reminds us of that country for which we want to pray.

With an item from Ikea – a mobile phone holder made of wood – of all things! - Peter and JoJo pray for Sweden.

Marriage Matters Editor S1 E13

In this week’s Marriage Matters, Andy B and Jo talk about the wider family – Parents, Siblings, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents and the in laws and how these family relationships can affect our marriages for good or bad. Jo opens by sharing some family matters found in the bible, the good, the bad and the ugly!

Like Marriage Matters, so does Family matter!

Tips and Resources
• Look out for, and watch, Skit Guys movie - Family Camp.
• Take some time, a year if you can, when you first get married to learn what God wants you to do to serve Him – together - now you’re a married couple.
• Pray – ask God about family relationships and how he wants you to handle them!

The Take Away
Andy notes how the bible tells us to do family very differently from how the world or even the church culture tells us.

Jo has noticed how important family is from Genesis to Revelation!

A pair of lovely goldfinches are busily building a nest just outside one of our windows. These are two ridiculously pretty little birds with perfectly defined bands of golden yellow and glorious red!

What a joy to see them beavering away looking as beautiful as God intended them to look, building their nest, with not a care in the world - even the wind we have today is blowing them all over the place, and yet they sit on a small branch, steady as a rock. What a reminder to be peaceful amongst the winds of life.

It reminds me of Matthew 6:26-34 (NLT)
Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?...and so much more heavenly wisdom

When are you going to believe you receive what you ask in prayer—when you receive the answer or when you pray?

You should believe you receive when you pray.

Listening to a spot of Magnum nice and loud after my usual, extremely pleasant, cycle to the coast - to blow away the cobwebs, and loosen my back muscles after several days glued to my computer compressing all of the 450 videos we've so far created for BerryBunch

Compression has finished. Uploading to our cloud storage is done. And I've started the longer process of adding them all to Vimeo for ad free viewing!

Done quite bit of editing to my next book too since I've had none of the usual video editing to do this week.

Time for a very late breakfast, since it's now 12:30 in the afternoon!

Hidden Workings and Perfumes that linger

This week I’ve started the process of using Vimeo to display all of the videos on our website.
I say ‘started’ because we have more than 450 videos to ‘process’ and each one needs a little work before it can be added to Vimeo.

Once a video is uploaded I then have to add a thumbnail image, add the subtitles and captions, and then click on a few other things to ensure it’s all good to go! I can then add that video to the relevant page or post on the website, delete the YouTube version of the exact same video, and move on to the next video to sort out.

And, now, we have a solution. [READ MORE]
