@bethany I am currently listening to a sermon series of Zac Poonen on the "Higher Life".

He basically says the same. God needs to crush our own self. That alone makes it possible for the Holy Spirit to fill us and reign in us and work through us.

We can do a lot of religious activity in our own strength, but its worthless if its not a work God wrought within us.

I'm at the crushing part of the way right now. :)

All you mention has not much to do with politics. You do all that and still stay away from politics.

If you seek decisive arguments against Christian politics, study the reformation, Study Northern Ireland's history.

Would be nice to have a face to face talk with that person that is not conscious of any sin.
For my part, I kept reading Jer23 lately: I trust in "The Lord our Righteousness" . Righteousness claimed, I strive for holiness. Not sure if I can reach a state of being unconscious of any sin, but striving can't be too far from the truth...

If only as many people were interested in holiness as are in politics...
