I finally got in touch with my brother in Asheville, NC today. It is not good there, but he and his wife are safe. No electricity or running water. Gasoline is not available.

Please pray for pastors and believers in Orissa State, India.
A large gathering of Hindu people is being planned for August 23rd. Their goal is to replicate and increase the persecution, church burnings, and murder they did in 2008.
Pastors are evacuating Khandmal District.
They are going door to door with flyers to invite and incite people for a 100% Hindu state.

Much more tired today. But the heart surgery went well with zero complications. Out same day, Praise God.
Today I'm weak, but still pain free and walking is more normal now - will try for another short walk today when the temperature drops a bit.
But I did have heart surgery 52 hrs ago, so not too bad considering.
God is good!!

@Berrybunchfamily, yes! I remember seeing the happy picture of you all together in your home. That is when I realized maybe someday they would make their way to the U.S. and from that we invited them to let us know if they ever did have plans to come.

Friends here in DD, I haven't posted here in a while, but have to give praise to our Jesus and thanks to Eugene and the team who created DD!
We have made friendships--- though only online up till last week--- that are large and kingdom oriented, and last week, our family was so incredibly blessed to get to meet and host the delightful DD personality, Tanja Ostman and her beautiful family! The Spirit of God is so precious, so rich is He in His love, fellowship and union! We felt we had known them for years and had only last week met in person. Such a gift!

Dementia is ......something I watched my dad disappear with and my mom fight to......what to say....to hold him from disappearing. He knew all of us but couldn't talk and we lost his loving personality - our leader and foundation - I guess one could say God was there but, oh, how our ground shook. God is ever faithful!
It was the most difficult time in live for me, a " Daddy's girl". I now walk the path my mom walked and fight the fight Mom fought. I need my DD family. I pray for those that have similar paths to walk - it's hard. But. It's a path that is illuminated by the presence of Jesus.

My husband and I just flew back to Philadelphia today from spending a wonderful, Christ-honoring time with my brothers family in Willow, Alaska for my nieces wedding. Wonderful times of worship and kingdom conversations. Now to get back into the stream of "normal" life, homeschooling , working on our house remodel with my husband and our 4 boys and a million other blessings from our Father's hand.
