Andy B and Jo jump right in with Song of Songs, the book in the bible all about marriage. And in this book, we are warned more than once – ‘Do not awaken love before it’s time’.

This is a gentle way of telling us about intimacy in relationships and the best time to awake this kind of love is when we are married.

The 4th episode of our Marriage Matters Podcast is out this afternoon, from 4pm: "Don't awake love before it's time".

It was recorded at the end of October, and we think it's a good one on a hot topic...but, like in life, sometimes our best laid plans go to the wall!

The challenge is to keep going and do what we can when we can.

God isn't looking for a happy marriage. But He is looking for how we do marriage; how we do life with our spouse. We can't control them, or be responsible for them, anymore than they are for us. But we are responsible, before God, for how we treat them and love them.

I do so love our joy bringing little Peter.

Creativity is through the roof.

When we told him we had no money for Christmas this year, so wouldn't be buying presents, he took it with a smilez and the challenge was set

Then he went about and created his own range of Christmas presents for us.

An R2D2 pencil pot (for Steven), a spaceship (mine), Ewok (Jo's) and BB-8 coasters (Nathan's)

He's been stock piling old hot chocolate tins...and put them to good use

Peeling is occurring in the kitchen

So I'm drinking a cup of tea while the rest of my lovely family sort that part, since I can't do that bit

We've got a slow cooked lemon and herb chicken in the slow cooker (I did that), a [heavily reduced] joint of beef being seasoned and put in the oven too (so glad we forgot to take any food out for yesterday evening, cos we loads, and loads, of ace bargains at our local corner shop from their reduced section, which we helped clear a bit ;-) )

We started with bacon and scrambled egg, and opened the crackers - which Jo made from scratch since we couldn't get any.

She found the jokes online - apologies in advance. They say much of our collective humour I guess...so sorry in advance

(The ring photo is because me and the 3 boys saved up from May 2020 to our 25th Anniversary in November 2021 to replace Jo's engagement ring, to buy food, which we had to sell, back along - when we were both without work: I wanted a new photo for my phone home screen)

4 weeks of blood thinners = 4 weeks with a beard.

Found some beard oil, and I'm now oiling and combing it most days

The barbed wire that was growing out of my face has now softened a little too
