We can all talk about the failures of “the Church” in the West. But “the Church” is us. We are called to do the works of Jesus. No more pointing the finger at ministries and pastors. Jesus commissioned us, you and me, to do the work. Let’s just do it.

Late Sunday evening here in the UK. What a day! Emotionally overwhelmed from the day in a good way. So much has happened which has a either really challenged me or encouraged me.

Finishing on a positive though.

And our first Sunday PLUS children's discipleship group went well....my favourite thing ever - sharing my excitement of the bible with children 😊

Happy Sunday y'all

Sunday PLUS with Dave the Dog, Proverbs 1, S01E01

youtu.be/pdt_3HtQ0vk

Andy B starts us off with the brand new Sunday PLUS by opening the bible to the book of Proverbs, and the very first chapter.

The Bible is exciting and is full of all sorts of things that can help us live better lives and become more like Jesus.

The book of Proverbs was written by King Solomon – the most wise man to ever live, after Jesus of course!

King Solomon is perhaps most well known for telling two women who were arguing about which one of them was the real mother of a baby, to cut that baby in half. Of course, the real mother said no, while the imposter said yes. King Solomon had his answer!

Proverbs teaches us all we need to know gain both knowledge and wisdom – and the difference between the two.

By special request, JoJo & Peter pray for Scotland, encouraging us to use the Scottish national dish of Haggis as our focal point.

Marriage Matters, It’s A Balancing Act, S01E011

youtube.com/watch?v=8MgZ2JpaTD

In this week’s Marriage Matters, Andy B and Jo talk about the importance of honesty in marriage and being gentle. They speak candidly about how we can go from being supportive, kind and loving to our spouse to cruel and unkind and critical if we are not careful.

As always, Andy B steers the episode with scripture and explores the following:

Proverbs 27:5-6
Proverbs 27:17
Proverbs 5:3

Andy B and Jo make the point that there is a need to tell our spouse some difficult truths sometimes, whether it’s as simple as not liking what they wear or disliking their culinary delights or the need for our spouse to slow down, rest or stop working!

There is a balance to be had between being straight on the one hand but being gentle about it on the other.

"You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these." Mark 12:31

....ahhh.....I am so old that I still remember way back during the last millennium, before there was email, facebook. whatsapp, or twitter we used this old antiquated system to communicate with one another.

What is it you do exactly?

Watching – Reading – Listening.

As a family, what we do has changed over the past couple of years since starting the BerryBunch. I thought it might be helpful for some of those who follow what we do to explain a little more about why we do what we do, and what that actually is and how it works and benefits you!

So grab yourself a seat, your favourite drink, and maybe a biscuit or seven (is that just me?) ‘cos this is good stuff and I don’t want to ruin by abbreviating it as I go.

It speaks of God’s provision and faithfulness to us, and all of that despite of us (or perhaps simply because of us)! [READ MORE]

Andy B 2 Minute Video, What’s gone has gone, S04E056

Time. The one sure thing we can be certain of is that time cares not for how we’re doing. It doesn’t go faster when we need it to. And no matter how much we will it, it won’t slow down either.

Times marches ever on!

For our online Ministry we’ve taken to doing the bulk of our weekly filming on a Saturday. It doesn’t take up the whole day, but it saves loads of time overall. We’ve given that day over to filming our work – the editing comes later during the following week.

Sometimes things go well, and sometimes, well, they just don’t! And on our last filming day we watched the time racing away from us while we had to deal with numerous problems that cropped up. By the end of Sunday, our weekend had simply not gone as planned, and we were really tired! [READ MORE]

Andy B 2 Minute Video, when enough is more than enough, S04E0554

youtu.be/6nzxHUqczOs

It’s a great thought to seek to only give God our best. But we need to check whether giving God what we have, and making sure that is the best we can offer, doesn’t become assigning human values to what we think God will want from us.

While grabbing some time with Jo, Andy B drove her to work. This meant they had some time together while Jo worked a half day, that they wouldn’t have otherwise had together. [READ MORE]

His creation is the best worship song.
Without saying a word leaves me breathtaking. How little I am. How beautiful He is. How much I need to change to reflect Him that well. His grace is enough.

Endurance, Honestly, I’m Fine, S4E05

youtu.be/shTSYKQWwnE

Endurance is your weekly spiritual workout, whether you think of yourself as a beginner, an intermediate, or advanced!

Andy B begins this week’s theme, “Honestly, I’m fine”, with a reminder of how skilled we can become at hiding our emotions through “Sunday smiles”.

He warns us that sometimes people will ask us how we are without really wanting to know the answer, reminding us to only ask a question if we are willing to hear the response.

Steven and Nathan challenge us to be honest with God and others, especially our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Nathan quotes Ephesians 4:25, which looks at the subject of honesty with fellow believers.

And the two of them discuss Jesus’ perfect example of honesty, as well David, who wrote many of the Psalms, and the way he was honest with God.

Peter & JoJo get together to encourage us, as always, to pray as a family. And they continue their series on using common objects for prayer to help us stay focused.

This week, JoJo & Peter continue to inspire us into praying for different countries, nations, or places in the world by using, this time, a photograph. Peter and JoJo encourage us to find pictures of the landscape or scenery of the country or nation for which we want to pray.

With an authentic photograph of a beautiful snowy scene with a lovely wooden home at the centre, thanks to Tanja, Peter and JoJo pray for Finland.
