@KarlGessler That's the first I've seen your "Safety Steve", but it looks like a fun and informative series for kids! Good job!

"Operation Strength To Strength"
But those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

"16% of petrol stations now have fuel" (rather than the 10% figure over last weekend). that's a direct quote from the UK Government (well the first part is - the bit in brackets is the rest of the equation)

or, 74% of petrol stations in the UK currently have insufficient, or no, fuel - like our local one, that is dry of fuel again

The UK is in an unusually difficult situation regarding fuel supplies. and [no] it won't get better overnight; [yes] it is affecting many people and [no] it won't simply go away just because it will [eventually] return to normal

And, unlike the BBC - who love inciting a panic - I do not believe that tanker drivers in military uniforms will cause widespread panic - actually I suspect they'll receive a round of applause wherever they turn up.

And I also like the truth - all of the truth, because I'm a big boy and can make my own mind up correctly when presented with the facts.

Now for the British thing, I'm off for a cup of tea to sort the world out

@Berrybunchfamily I can identify with the frustration. As to sorting the world out...that may take some time. I find that I need to dig more into the Word of God to help "cope" with the mess this world is in. My husband and I were talking yesterday about so many signs that we're getting closer to the things written in Revelation. God is still seated on His throne and not one Word of His has failed. We have to keep our trust in Him and keep sharing His truth with others so that as many as possible will enter His Kingdom. You and Jo are doing this, and this is what matters. I will pray for your nation during this crisis. Nigeria has also been placed on my heart even more recently. Just as in Egypt in Moses' days, God heard the cries of the oppressed, His ears are still open to His people.

@VeritasDomain what an encouraging word. Psalm 18:32-33,is special to me. I had my spine collapsed and shred my nerves. After the Dr. repaired it, he told my husband I would not walk. God says different. It is a challenge for me to walk but, "it is God that girdeth me with strength, and makrth my way ,steps, perfect. He makrth my feet like Hinds feet, and setteth me upon my high places.

@tymektt Our part of Louisiana was hit the hardest by Ida(190mph gusts recorded). It was probably the strongest hurricane to ever hit Louisiana, but thankfully, no flooding. My house is gutted since 4 windows busted through (shutters and all) and hurricane Ida made herself at home in my house, but we were not nearly as bad as most homes in this area. The people here have come together as usual, and we're moving forward. I've seen GOD's beauty every day since the storm. He's truly near to the broken-hearted.

Got our ration of diesel, so Jo can do all 4 days at work this week

Next week is far away (& scripture tells us take things 1 day at a time) - so we'll deal with it 1 day at a time

People are aggressive, impatient, irritable on edge. shop staff are nervous and quickly defensive - me not trying to put in more than the ration they set, invoked a shocked smile and a visible relaxing of her shoulders (perhaps also because the guy in front of me at the till had just jumped the queue, in front of me in the shop, just because he could, because he was on a motorbike, before spilling petrol everywhere because his guilt was obvious for all to see - so not worth it...petrol on a hot motoribke?!?)

A chap with Jerry cans apologised profusely, but pointed out he was a gardener and that was for his livelihood. At least he didn't try and push in front of me, but I did challenge him as he was edging in between me & the motorbike and tensions were plenty high enough already.

Madness and fear!!

@Berrybunchfamily @MaryMamuzich I do pray this issue is soon resolved. Not so many months ago I was traveling and unaware that I was traveling to an area with a similar situation. I prayed and saw God's hand provide in amazing ways! After many locations being without fuel, I stopped at one that I thought may have been in service. No. They were empty too! I inquired as to whether the attendant could direct me to another location to find fuel. With a dejected face, she replied, "No, everyone is looking". Then, she said, "Wait! I just saw a (fuel) truck go that way" and went on to tell me where I could check. It happened to be on my route and, sure enough, I was able to refuel without so much as a wait! I believe it was Divine guidance and provision. I pray you will experience the same favor and provision and continue to shine as a light in the midst of the fear and chaos.

Our dear American friend Eric (to the right) visited our home. We had fellowship with another family. Eric moved to northern Sweden around 30 years ago to become a missionary to Swedes, indigenous Samis (in northern Swe, Finland, Norway), Swedish-speaking Finns (like us), Russians and others… He travels regularly to Armenia. He is a kitchen table mentor and teacher, even if he is okay with the pulpit as well. He was one of the first I met around 15 years ago, who said that he prefers gathering in homes instead of church buildings, that he was leading through friendship and mentoring. He is setting an example (not only talking from distance), and he brings people with him when he travels. It’s OK to call him on the phone when there’s a need, and ok to ask any question. Today he told me: “Remember to be a human being, not a human doer!” He knows my upbringing and background, so I need that reminder every now and then. It makes me sad that there are so few spiritual mothers and fathers.

"If the Holy Spirit was withdrawn from the church today, 95 percent of what we do [like music, comedy, and lifeless sermons] would go on and no one would know the difference. If the Holy Spirit had been withdrawn from the New Testament church, 95 percent of what they did would stop, and everybody would know the difference." A. W. Tozer

Going by the constitution of several nations, Joseph was doubly disqualified to be a prime minister. One, he wasn't a citizen of Egypt. Two, he was a convicted criminal. But God's mercy and grace located Joseph and covered his limitations. Look away from your physical limitations. With God, all things are possible.

@TakeN This one seems tricky. Almosts like Samson's riddle. I need to think about it as I'm totally clueless at present.

@Berrybunchfamily @MaryMamuzich I think I'll try them too. Our family enjoys trying different foods from around the world. This is completely new to us.
