A woman was once asked what she gained from praying. She replied…
“Prayer isn’t about what I gain, it’s about what I lose. In prayer I lose my pride, arrogance, greed, desire for sin, impatience, despair and discouragement. Prayer allows me to lose the things that get in the way of drawing closer to Him”

This is ironically written by somebody. 😂 We are tired of the winter in Finland... April use to be spring time, not winter. It started melting a couple of weeks ago, but then it halted. It's been snowing again today. It started in November, so it's our sixth winter month... it's time for warmth, and to stop using winter jackets and winter boots, and to slip on icy roads.

Darkness often feels like it is greater and has more power. People love to do bad things in the dark because, I guess, they think it can appease some of the evil of their actions. Or, just because they don’t wish to get caught – which really amounts to the same thing.

Darkness often feels like it is closing around us, and it can seem as though it wins more often than the good.

And yet, as Christians, we have a sure and certain hope that where there is light, the darkness will not be able to win! Scripture tells us that where light is, darkness can not be.

Last year all my wonderful DD brothers and sisters were praying for my daughter and granddaughter to survive an extremely different delivery. Today Kynlee turned one and she is beautiful and healthy and so is my daughter.
I thank God for DD! A place that brings us together from around the world to love and hold each other up in prayer. Praise God for saving the life of this tiny child that has my heart wrapped around her tiny finger!

A cup of tea with a friend can be a great way of spending our time! Talking to someone, seeing the reaction on their face as we say something, helps steer the conversation. It is invaluable feedback to deepen the relationship.

As a preacher, or as a worship leader, that same feedback is really important - it helps us steer how we say things, or how many times we can get away with repeating that same chorus while we try to remember what the next song was supposed to be, or how we’d agreed - with the other musicians - to seamlessly get to that next song and continue the worship (that last one might just be an Andy B thing). I'm truly grateful....a year ago I was in hospital....2 surgeries...29days in (even had another tumor removed a month later after I had left Hospital...3 surgeries o!!)....wow! I came out a better man.. because "I get better wife and better friends!!"( Portion in inverted commas is Pidgin English...should be spoken with a Nigerian accent..😊)

We can all talk about the failures of “the Church” in the West. But “the Church” is us. We are called to do the works of Jesus. No more pointing the finger at ministries and pastors. Jesus commissioned us, you and me, to do the work. Let’s just do it.

Late Sunday evening here in the UK. What a day! Emotionally overwhelmed from the day in a good way. So much has happened which has a either really challenged me or encouraged me.

Finishing on a positive though.

And our first Sunday PLUS children's discipleship group went well....my favourite thing ever - sharing my excitement of the bible with children 😊
